Expanding Charter School Seeks Dedicated Staff for 2008-2009

 

Salem Academy Charter School will expand in 2008 - 2009 to our full capacity with grades  6 - 12 and will celebrate our first group of students graduating.  As the school grows, we seek teachers who are committed to raising student achievement through an integration of rigorous college preparatory classes with service to the community.  Various openings are anticipated, including:  high school math, science, and English

 

Specifically, we are looking for staff members with:

 

• Belief in the mission and vision of the school

• Relentless commitment to raising academic achievement of all students

• Commitment to standards-based teaching and learning

• Experience working with a diverse student body

• Experience teaching in their subject area

• Excitement about integrating academics with service work

• Interest in working collaboratively to improve instruction for all students

• Eagerness to be part of creating an innovative and rigorous middle and high school program

• Possession of Massachusetts Teacher Certification or successful completion of the Massachusetts Teacher’s Test
