School Family Community (SFC) Team
SFC TEAM MISSION
To create, strengthen and maintain a better school and a better educational experience for our children through the collaborative effort of parents, teachers and administrators.
WHO IS THE SFC TEAM?
The SFC team is comprised of Salem Academy's parents, guardians, administrators and staff, who are dedicated to developing and maintaining the best educational environment and learning opportunities for our children.
Through VOLUNTEERING time and skills, the SFC Team is able to:
* Support our teachers and administrators in a
social and financial sense while they promote the
best educational, moral, intellectual, and
physical programs for the students.
* Render financial support to the school by
organizing fundraising events and programs.
* Develop a vibrant community of parents,
teachers, administrators and students by
encouraging volunteerism and community
service.
YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE in your child's education and life by becoming an active member of the SFC Team. It is a wonderful way to discover what is happening at Salem Academy. You will enjoy getting to know other parents and the Salem Academy Community. Membership is free. In fact, you are already a member as a parent or guardian of a child attending Salem Academy!
CURRENT SFC EVENTS: The SFC has scheduled meetings for the 2011-2012 school year. The next meeting of the SFC will be Tuesday, January 24th, 2012 at 7:00pm at Salem Academy in Room 125. All parents are invited and encouraged to attend! Hope to see you there!
SFC BAKE SALES: The SFC Teamwill be hosting a BAKE SALE this spring on Wednesday, April 11th, 2012 during student lunches. Please contact Sharon Ramos if you are interested in volunteering baked goods for this event. Each item MUST be individually wrapped, and should be nut-free!

WE NEED EVERYONE to become an active member of the SFC Team and assist in our events & activities. Whether you enjoy working with the children, organizing or helping at events, working on important social issues, are handy with a hammer or a computer, or just have time for the occasional phone calling, there is something for everyone!
DID YOU KNOW that there have been more than 500 independent research studies about parent involvement at school? The results are startling! When parents get involved in their children's education the result is that grades and test scores go up, children become more likely to pass, have fewer discipline problems, and attend better schools after high school.
SFC TEAM MEETINGS are now scheduled for the 2011-2012 school year! Salem Academy and the SFC Team will benefit from hearing your ideas, and you will become better informed about all the past and upcoming events at the school. If you are unable to attend the meetings, please feel free to provide your ideas, thoughts and suggestions by contacting External Affairs Coordinator, Jennifer Banville (jbanville@salemacademycs.org) or a member from the SFC leadership Team:
