Wrapping Up Summer

It’s hard to believe, but we are wrapping up our last official week of vacation here at SACS!  Our walls are painted, the floors are being waxed, and you may have seen the Facebook pictures of what our Learning Common looks like at the moment as we get ready to install new carpeting.  We have an exciting Summer Institute planned for staff next week and we are thrilled to officially welcome our new teachers on Monday, August 11^th.

We look forward to seeing our 6^th graders, 9^th graders, and new 7^th graders on Wednesday, August 20^th and all of our students. This is a half day from 8:30 – 12:00.  Breakfast and a pizza lunch will be served and we will hold a New Family Orientation for Lower School from 12:15 – 1:00 in the cafeteria, and one for Grade 9 Families in the Learning Common. We are holding intake assessments on 8/12 from 9:00 – 11:00am for any new 6^th or 7^th grader who missed these in July.

We also look forward to our first full day of school on Thursday, August 21^st!  Keep an eye out for Upper School schedules in the mail next week, accompanied by a welcome letter from US Principal, Mr. Gass.

For those of you who are wondering… Mrs. Callahan’s due date is coming up soon – August 19^th.  Dr. Alyce Davis, Interim Lower school Principal, is already at SACS preparing for the new year!
