Executive Director's Welcome
Welcome to Salem Academy Charter School! We are pleased that you are interested in learning more about Salem Academy. In our 17th year of operation, we are excited to share that we are not only succeeding in our original mission, but we are growing in all that we offer our students.
At Salem Academy, we provide a small, family atmosphere where all aspects of a child’s education are considered. As an independent, public, college preparatory school we serve just over 480 students in grades six through twelve. Through a unique integration of college preparatory classes with service to the community, Salem Academy graduates informed, articulate, and proactive individuals of strong character. Our commitment to education has placed us on the U.S. News & World Report best public high school list in Massachusetts, and the MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education has ranked us a “Level 1” school!
We founded this school to serve the diverse population of Salem. Salem Academy believes that every student is unique, valuable and able to learn and succeed. We believe students do best when held to high expectations and provided with structure, support and consistency.
In addition to academic achievement, students grow as athletes, volunteers, and leaders though participation in the school’s extracurricular, service learning, and athletic programs. Through our use of new spaces, the Norman H. Read Gymnasium and Nile Albright Center for the Arts, our programs are growing and enriching the experience for each student. Our school is committed to developing a safe and supportive environment for every student. We value the diversity and inclusion of everyone in our community.
Salem Academy Charter School provides a special environment that fosters academic success and personal growth for our students. In addition to hard work, we foster personal growth, finding one’s passion and developing a strong sense of self.
