Adesuwa Eghe Received Student Award from Salem Award Foundation

Congratulations to Adesuwa Eghe, 12th grade, who received a student award from the Salem Award Foundation for Human Rights and Social Justice this past Sunday.  Adesuwa was nominated for her leadership in addressing race relations amid much publicized incidents of alleged police brutality across the nation.

The Foundation annually calls attention to modern day champions of human rights to keep alive the lessons of the Salem Witch Trials of 1692.
The principal award this year was given to Filipino immigrant Jose Antonio Vargas. A Pulitzer-prize winning journalist, Vargas has become an advocate on immigration issues and the Dream Act.
Former SACS student, Cole Jermyn received the other student award for his work rebuilding homes in New Orleans.
